Christmas is approaching, and magic is in the air. Known as the most enjoyable time of the year, you’ve likely spent days or even weeks counting down until the holidays become socially acceptable for you to indulge in all your favourite Christmas activities.
Even with COVID-19 and its variants, we can still have fun and ‘safe’ ways to enjoy the season. It is best to celebrate with members of your nuclear family or privately at home or in a socially distant setting (as opposed to in large groups) to keep safe.
The following are eight activities you and your family can do on Christmas day to make it memorable!
Decorate Your Tree
Now is the perfect time to dust off the old ornaments and hang them carefully on the tree. What do you put on your Christmas Tree?
Donate Old and Unused Items
What better way to get into the holiday spirit on Christmas Day than by giving back? Haven’t slipped into a dress in ages? When was the last time you used that old stuff? Donate it! Give back during the holidays by donating old and unused items.
Binge Watch Christmas Movies
There are countless great Christmas movies to choose from, ranging from classic black-and-white films to comedies that will make the whole family laugh. Get the family together or watch alone for a Christmas Day viewing experience that’s sure to bring plenty of holiday cheer and pairs well with a hot beverage.
Cook a Festive Meal
The holidays are all about spending time with loved ones, and what better way to do that than by eating a massive amount of mouth-watering foods.
Make a Christmas Playlist
Put all the classic jams on your playlist and let your holiday mood be inspired by some of the best Christmas songs ever.
Attend a Holiday Party or Event
It’s the holiday party season, and this year there are more factors to consider, as opposed to last year when most events were either cancelled outright or relocated to virtual. COVID-19 vaccine requirements and other safety protocols can make smaller gatherings seem relatively low-risk. So, if you must attend an event or party this season, make sure all COVID-19 protocols are observed.
Get in Touch with Old Friends or Family Members
Spend some time reconnecting with an old friend from college or a family member you haven’t seen in a while. You can make a quick phone call to let them know you are thinking about them during the holiday season.
Mail Gifts
Even if you can’t see your family and friends this season due to safety concerns, you can still send them a gift and let them know you’re thinking of them.
