Season’s greetings one and all and if you were at the Temple Muse Christmas party then the season went off with a bang! The belle monde of Lagos gathered for the annual shin-dig presided by Avi and Kabir Wadhwani in partnership with the good people of Moet and Chandon. Well, it wouldn’t be celebratory without the requisite overflow of bubbles?
The theme this year was sparkle and the shine-shine element was there especially with the likes of fashion mavens such as Lisa Folawiyo, Dolapo Oni, Lisa-Leigh Aladekomo and singing sensation Falana in the mix. We were particularly charmed by how these ladies gave a perfect day to evening masterclass without negating on the glam factor.
Musical accompaniment was provided by a Christmas quartet playing a combination of carols and season classics – it might not be snowing anytime soon in Lagos but we had eggnog, mulled wine and super scrummy salmon on Star-of-Bethlehem thins to keep us fuelled and festive.
As ever, the party saw the launch of the Christmas shop and wowzers this was one-stop-shopping at its best! From the perfect baubles to pimp your tree with through to the ultimate stocking fillers, anyone making selections was well and truly sorted. We cannot wait for the forthcoming gift list which allows for those who would have Father Christmas just carry-go to Amodu Tijani Close and be done with it sort our all of their present requirements.
All good things must indeed come to an end but this wouldn’t be a party if we hadn’t given you our very own Christmas Tree Angel and Santa’s very own Style Helper in the form of the best dressed. That honour goes to Ann Ogunsulire who demonstrated how easy-breezy but still sick as you like chic can be achieved when you team the shirt of the season from Bridget Awosika with a tough but still flirty a-line leather mini and finish it off with a give a hoot but they’re still glam flat sandals from Zashadu. All hail the mistress of the hour!
For the guys it was all about our permanent man crush (who needs to keep it a Mondays only affair?) Bayo Oke-Lawal of Orange Culture. Before any claim he has an advantage because he is a designer – can we just appreciate – as in properly appreciate. The electric blue wrap shirt was everything and a tray of canapés and the slim-line black pant teamed with leopard print slides was a masterclass in throwing in a surprise element in an ensemble! Stop look and learn peeps!
Such a chic event . Bayo is really sexy ?. I’d like to actually see a cover story about him that’s in-depth and not all those dead fluff interviews I’ve read
