For the Vlisco&Co event in Lagos, Vlisco collaborated with menswear brand Tokyo James who presented a new collection titled The New Africa made with exclusive Vlisco innovation fabrics.
Right at the heart of the Tokyo James brand ethos, is the concept of simplicity with an edge – because what is life without the balance between the normal and the extraordinary?
According to the designer:
The concept behind the collection was inspired by the African man and the relationship that exists between him and his environment. Man is a force of nature which is continually affecting its environment but nature cuts back constantly, hence there are insects monograms on some of the pieces. The collection speaks to that delicate balance that exists between man and nature and how interdependent they are on each other.
For the collection, Tokyo James worked with classic Vlisco design ‘Dices’ and the pieces are available for pre-order from the designer.
