As sighs were heard all over the world (who doesn’t love love? Harry’s unabashed delight was truly the best thing we saw today) , the more fashion obsessed of us awaited the moment we saw Meghan Markle and #theDress. Some people were upset at the simplicity of the dress, others overawed by the clean lines and understated and timeless nature of the look. The internet has been afire with speculation for weeks on who would be tapped to make her wedding dress, and as it turns out Clare Waight Keller, first female Artistic Director of Givenchy had the honour.
Despite the fact that the wedding is over and the reception has begun, debate around #theDress still rages unabated, so we tapped some style experts to let us know what they thought!
I loved her ivory silk off the shoulder boat neck line designed by French house Givenchy . It expresses her personal style of sophistication and classic demure look . 3 quarter sleeve is a timeless yet modern cut. Overall her choice shows her independent stand on supporting strong females with her choice of Clare Waight Keller, the first female artistic director at Givenchy. Floral symbols from the commonwealth countries sewn into her veil added a lovely touch to the ensemble .
I feel this Givenchy was appropriate for what she wanted to portray! Minimalist Elegance … you don’t always have to have flashy or fitted and uncomfortable – now women can see there’s another option! I loved it.
The Givenchy designed wedding dress easily represents Meghan Markle’s style- [simple], classy and elegant.
I mean what’s more iconic than her veil which had flowers selected from the 53 Commonwealth countries and the Queen Mary diamond bandeau tiara which held the veil in place, accompanied by Cartier accessories.
And the smile made a perfect finish.
Her look to me was timeless, pure, natural unpredictable, elegant, priceless and beautiful.
Meghan Markle is known for her simplistic, yet classic style. She a minimalist and fan of clean lines and silhouette, so I wasn’t sure the direction her dress would go but I was excited to see, because I have always appreciated her take on modern & classic.
So, I thought the dress made by English Native Clare Waight Keller for the House of Givenchy, was very befitting for her, loved her choice of tiara and also being they decided to take a less grand ceremonial approach to their ceremony and chose for a more intimate and smaller setting. I thought it was great.
Though I thought it could have fit a little bit better ( I know the royals are very conservative and it couldn’t be too fitted) but I would have absolutely loved like a diamond encrusted belt on the waist to match the tiara and bring in her waist a little bit And give us a lil’ of that Markle sparkle .
Her bespoke reception dress by Stella McCartney was breathtaking and gorgeous on her, accentuated her neck & her silhouette.
Massive Congratulations to the Royal Couple. They definitely are a modern love story, one for the books for a very long time to come. It was beautiful all around.

It was boring and lacking in any character. The most interesting thing about the dress was its back story which was depressing. She is minimalistic but I have never known Meghan to be boring. So I need dome answers from Claire.
Ugggg seriously thanks for saying that. I was bored to tears and all these people loving it is hilarious. I’ve never seen a more boring dress. I wasn’t expecting drama but at least give it some character. Looks like Mary Amaka going for holy communion
Hello Latasha
Totally loved it.
