Hi guys! Welcome to yet another edition of my Diary of a Lagos Lifestyle Enthusiast. Last time I wrote to you, I gave a full review of Rufus & Bee, the first ever premium gaming arcade experience in Nigeria, located in Twinwaters, Lagos. Now, in the spirit of Visa Restaurant Week (which is currently popping in selected fine dining restaurants in Lagos), I decided to give 788 On The Sea a try!
What can I say – it was nothing like I have ever seen or tasted before. Wow! Let’s just say that at 788 On
The Sea I had a treat to seafood goodness. I can categorically tell you that this restaurant is finally the
answer to the dearth of great seafood options here in Lagos. Crab, lobster, shrimp…you name it!
While placing my order, I got lost in the alluring view of the Atlantic Ocean and was totally dazzled by
the restaurant’s serene environment and balmy set-up, while being serenaded by the classic notes of
the pianist playing live.
It was also fascinating to see their exquisite wine collection, carefully stored in a
wall in the room as part of the restaurant’s aesthetic. With a sitting capacity of over 100 people, guests
can organise parties, birthday celebrations, business meetings and dinners, and so much more.
Finally, I settled to my order of a Mixed Seafood Platter, which held a mixture of Calamari, Prawns,
Lobster and Crab! I must say, for a fine dining restaurant, the portions were filling. The presentation was
perfect, the food was impeccably sautéed and utterly delicious, and gave me a whole new redefinition
of a seafood experience. I am still reliving every bite!
For me, the experience I had at 788 On The Sea was more than just dining in a nice restaurant. The
elegant ambience, the selection of wines, the way dishes are presented and the impeccable service
turned my dinner into a memorable experience. Again, just like my visit to Rufus & Bee, my expectation was surpassed.
