Ever craved Nigerian comfort food, but served in a new way?
Enter Imoteda Aladekomo, a Nigerian native and Le Cordon Bleu trained chef of one of the hippest and most innovative food concepts out of the continent – The Nigerian Fusion Food Tour . The tour started in 2016 and has since partnered with various chefs in its 7 stop annual tour from Chef Fregz to Chef Emeka. Think Nigerian food served in a relaxed, modern atmosphere, incorporating traditional Nigerian flavors in a refined, fresh, and inventive way—a testament to the both Imoteda’s determination to export Nigerian culture in a new way and the founding mantra of her company ‘Heels in The Kitchen’ – based on the belief that you can bring glamour to every aspect of your life.
I had the pleasure of attending third edition of The Nigerian Fusion Food Tour in Toronto last weekend and it was well.. beyond delicious.
Good food? Check. Seamless service and ambience in spades? Check. A step by step breakdown of the food, the process and the inspiration? Triple Check.
In spite of a minor venue snafu earlier in the day, the lunch seating for the event was near flawless in its execution. We were treated to a four course meal with dishes such as Miyan Tuashe (Pumpkin Soup) and unlimited drinks.
The tour returns in 2019. I cannot wait!
