Influencer and creative director Ogwa Iweze continues to feed our addiction to her digital series Fashion and The City series as she continues her journey to explore the amazing city of Abuja and the most recent rollout from the series found DYZN’s creative director at the place where the dream of many Abuja fashion designers took flight from- Wuse Market.
In this particular installment of Fashion and The City, Ogwa is dressed in a colorful flowing gown which is perfect for navigating the very busy market with her perfectly done makeup thanks to her makeup artist as she feeds us with crisp images captured by her talented photographer. However, this particular installment has quite the sentimental value to Ogwa personally as she shares in the caption alongside the pictures how much Wuse Market means to her and several other Abuja designers.
This is where dreams are made! Many brands started here and this print reminds me of a visit I made with the ceo of @patrickayanski fabrics to this very market. We came to look at prints she would use to start producing various African print textures. (Silk, chiffon, organza, Jersey etc)
Fast forward to many years later and I’m wearing one of her prints in this same market!!! She has made strides and is now the largest producer in Africa with stockists world wide! This is truly where dreams, creations and ideas take flight for many of us!
