While we over at the BNS HQ are currently going into a mini frenzy as we make plans for the fast-approaching ARISE Fashion Week 2019 to ensure we are provide you guys with the stellar coverage you deserve as well as make outfit plans for the event and while making it to our pre-fashion week fittings and all that craziness that comes with fashion week. In the midst of all the craziness however, the BNS editorial and social media team still came together to talk about all the things we are loving this week.
From the album and song we keep putting on replay to the BellaStylista who caught our eye this week, here are all this week’s fab finds.
Fashion
With ARISE Fashion Week just around the corner, it only makes sense to start stocking up on pieces from our favorite fashion brand and one that seems to be a hit amongst the girls on the team has to be this piece from womenswear brand DENIKE’s SS19 collection. The inherent Nigerianness of the fit coupled with the many potential styling options of the ensemble makes it a no brainer. If you see someone rocking this fit at ARISE Fashion Week, be rest assured knowing that you might have met a BN Style editor.
Beauty
Outfit on fleek? What about your makeup then? As firm believers in buying from and supporting indigenous fashion and beauty brands, we are always happy to find indigenous brands that are aesthetically pleasing and get the job done and makeup brand Jaxx Cosmetics does that and more. Our beauty pick of the week has to be these matte liquid lippies from Jaxx Cosmetics as they match our minimalistic aesthetics and leave us looking (and feeling) pretty.
Entertainment
Maybe it’s the heat wave, maybe there is a retrograde happening but we have been finding ourselves reaching for our earphones and music streaming apps even more than usual. It also helps that our faves seem to not be giving us any breaks and are releasing songs back to back. From our unproblematic singer Khalid who released his second studio album Free Spirit earlier this morning and has had us hooked all day to Ariana Grande who recently dropped a new single with her best friend Victoria Monet called Monopoly which bares a strong resemblance to Ariana Grande’s earlier released 7 Rings and of course, Odunsi and RAYE’s song Tipsy which is still getting replayed. Let’s just say, it has been a great week musically.
Cuisine
All week we have been craving fine dining and this weekend we will be indulging ourselves in that and more at this weekend at Shiro Lagos. The pretty pictures of the space and foods coupled with the testimonies of everyone that has gone there has definitely fanned our cravings and we can not wait to cure them over the weekend.
BellaStylista
While our BellaStylistas came out in full force this week, Alexander Julian definitely had us in awe. The fashion and travel editor and content specialist is a true gem and every time he pops up on our timeline we find ourselves staring a bit too much and for a bit too long. His audacious style as well as his inspiring content is honestly everything.
