Mayfair was abuzz in the evening hours of 10th June 2023 as Tatler Editor — Richard Dennen joined by co-hosts Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, popularly known as Cuppy, and Vimbai Masiyiwa welcomed IT girls, art aficionados and society grandees to view a celebration of portraiture at the world’s premier destination for art and luxury – Sotheby’s.
Asides from being the beloved daughters of African billionaires — Nigeria’s Femi Otedola and Zimbabwe’s Strive Masiyiwa respectively — Cuppy is a sensational musician and DJ while Vimbai is an Africa Travel Expert.

The celebration heralded Tatler Magazine’s July Issue and championed a vital cause. Held in honour of Prince’s Trust International, the pieces on display included Sarah Knights’ remarkable portrait of King Charles III, specially commissioned for Tatler’s July cover.
The Trinidadian artist portrayed the king facing east, towards ‘the rising of the sun, the beginning of a new day, a new dawn. She said she thought it important to capture the King looking hopeful, full of clarity at this time.

In the historic issue, Vimbai (left) and her sister Esther Masiyiwa (right) dazzle in a tributary fashion shoot inspired by the legendary Madame Yevonde, in which the sisters recreate the photographer’s double portrait of Lady Patricia Sybil Douglas, daughter of the 11th Marquess of Queensberry, who appeared on the front cover of The Tatler in 1936, captured by the trailblazing photographer (Madame Yevonde).
