Lights, camera, action! GLG Communications recently rolled out the black carpet to celebrate Nigeria’s vibrant PR industry at an extraordinary event that thrilled attendees. Designed as part of its activities to honour the tireless efforts, creativity, and innovation of Nigerian communication wizards on World PR Day, it was an evening of glamour, excitement, and well-deserved recognition, spotlighting those who make it all happen.
Held at the prestigious Alliance Francaise Ikoyi Lagos, the event welcomed some of the most prominent names in Nigerian PR, including representatives from major corporations, government agencies, and nonprofit organisations.
According to Omawumi Ogbe, Managing Partner at GLG Communications:
GLG Communications is proud to honour our own country’s PR professionals and celebrate their successes. We started this annual event in 2022 to commemorate World PR Day, and with how the industry welcomed it, we knew we wanted to continue in this tradition to host our industry and celebrate the selflessness and resilience of our PR colleagues who are usually behind the scenes and doing the celebration for others.
The event showcased two keynote interviews featuring industry luminaries, Yomi Badejo-Okusanya, the immediate past president of the African Public Relations Association (APRA) and Managing Director of CMC Connect, and Peter Ukhurebor, the US-based communications executive and Founder of Black At Cannes. Moderated by Omawumi Ogbe and Nkiru Olumide-Ojo, Executive Head of Africa Regions Corporate Communications Marketing & Corporate Social Impact at Standard Bank Group, respectively, the keynotes sparked unique insights and thought-provoking discussions.
The event ended with the 2023 PR Power List presentation where Nigerian PR and communication professionals were celebrated for their excellent work within Africa and in the diaspora.
