UDIAHGEBI has unveiled its tenth official collection called “SYMPOSIUM; The Beauty Of Parley” featuring avantgarde style icon, TV Presenter & actor Denrele Edun.

In the words of the creative director,
Symposium explores the idea of representation in political and legal spaces, drawing its core inspiration from my fascination with political intrigue and the intricate art of subtle warfare, and negotiation. “Power play with clothes” “garments as weapons”, “Audentes fortuna juvat” trsl: “fortune favors the bold” these were some of the key phrases that formed the idea for this collection. Through a fusion of 18th/19th century bourgeois, and gothic renaissance, I wanted to create beautifully refined and clean looks that still felt raw and blindingly honest to look at.

Featuring powerful style lines inspired by Victorian corsetry, medieval battle armor, turn of the last century dandy jackets, corporate shirts and of course the classic black dress, this collection deconstructs these classic “powerhouse” silhouettes and reconstructs them in ways that defy the binary, delving into a space that is traditionally conservative and unmoving and sought to create a space entirely its own.

In a world so quick to resort to arms to answer conflict, Symposium’s coy elegance is an ode to strategic warfare and the cunning art of negotiation. It aims to challenge without noise and project the sort of palpable power you can feel in spaces where a lack of subtlety could so easily be the difference between armistice and chaos.
