The world premiere of Black Panther held last night in Hollywood, California. Stars in the movie including Lupita Nyong’o, Daniel Kaluuya, Danai Gurira were supported by fellow movie stars Issa Rae, David Oyelowo, among others on the purple carpet.
The interesting thing about this premiere was the peculiar outfit choices the celebrities went with. Gold, purple and white along with luxurious accessories sparked up the night.
The guests seemed to follow a royal dress code. Lupita looked like a goddess in a deep plum-coloured, custom-made Versace gown complete with an ornate jewel caged harness.
Even John Kani and Atandwa Kani joined the rest of the star-studded cast donning outfits with rich African heritage.
John who plays King T’Chaka in the movie, in an interview with Variety, told the publication how Black Panther represents Africans in a different light.
I knew we would introduce a different African. The African that is a global figure, the African that cares and contributes to world peace.
