When you first take a gander, the African Millennials may seem like one of the other cliched shows that have sprung up following the runaway success of BKCHT LDN, and on some counts you may be right, but it would still be a facile assessment.
The show seeks to navigate and debate the sometimes complicated waters of social issues facing the black and African communities. This is not a unique premise, but it’s certainly a new and refreshing lens to examine some of the issues through. Whilst season one left a little to be desired, we appreciated the enthusiasm with which the cast tackled each episode and the unique views each cast member brought.
The campaign images were released in celebration of the second season of the African Millennials or the AM’s as they are sometimes referred to – and we enjoyed that they explored a regal look for the cast, an alternative that was not too firmly tied to the somewhat tired, African-wax-as-identity trope (they still gave us some Ankara, because Africa afterall).
All things considered, the highly stylized were pretty dope and the group shots were pure fire.
The cast (Nestreya, DJ YB, Kristia, Bawo, Lucy, Acrown, Francia, Buki, Senami, Tayo, DJ Love, Milan, and KMS) were shot by Joey Rosado of Island Boi Photography fame and styled by cast member Senami Atinkpahoun

They represent literally 0% of the true African Millennials. This shizz is more like “American Millennials with African Parentage”…..Kmt ???
