The 2022 Met Gala ended a few hours ago and one of the highlights of the event was definitely the jaw-dropping interpretations of the theme; An Anthology of Fashion built around the tenets of American style and celebrating unsung heroes of US design. With a special emphasis on “Gilded Glamour”.

Celebrities decked out in their varied takes on gilded glamour while flashing bright smiles for the paparazzi. Our best-dressed list featured the night’s most successful ensembles including of course Cynthia Erivo‘s sustainable Louis Vuitton lace number, other African stars brought high fashion to the red carpet in their own unique ways; while Edward Enninful and Regé-Jean Page gave us a lesson in dapper fashion. British rap star Stormzy looked angelic in a white floor-length cape.

Gilded Age meets sustainability. Cynthia opted for a Louis Vuitton archived lace gown featuring feathers, lace, and a towering headwrap. A captivating blend of finishes, it’s a standout look from the evening.

The super talented Yahya came through with a Thom Browne black satin tuxedo with floor-draping tails featuring gold-and-black floral embellishments.  An absolutely unforgettable look.

Stormzy

British-Ghanaian rap star Stormzy took the Met’s red carpet by storm in a custom white satin ensemble designed by Burberry. His angel-like look comprised a floor-length cape, a white tuxedo, a white shirt and tie, and black leather shoes. A vision in white.

Danai’s Met Gala moments are always major but this year’s look might be her all-time best. Radiant in a silky blue off-shoulder gown by Nigerian designer Taofeek Abijako, Danai accessorized with minimal jewellery and a traditional African fly whisk with a matching blue handle. #AfricanRoyalty
