It’s only a few hours to the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards 2020 and the excitement is palpable. The AMVCA is one of the most anticipated events in Nigeria as filmmakers, actors, influencers and more bring their fashion A-game to the red carpet.
The internet is buzzing with style predictions for this year’s edition. Ahead, we had a chat with creative director Adetunji Ife Adebiyi of Rhobes as he spills the tea on what to expect at this year’s show.

Who are some celebrities you have worked with for AMVCA over the years?
We’ve put our masterpieces on Denola Adepetun, Noble Igwe.
Which celebrities are you always eager to see on the red carpet?
Denola Grey is always a delight, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Rita Dominic, Toke Makinwa also never fails to bring us a show.
Who will you be working with this year?
Let’s just say we’re working with the best-dressed guys this year, we would be working with only about 4 people though, let’s not let the cat outta the bag too early.
What are some of your red carpet style predictions for this year at the AMVCAs?
I expect the harness trend to remain for the guys, I also expect to see a lot of colours for the women, I’m guessing the color of the year would be on display a lot, the classic blue, I also pray the guys will embrace the relaxed fit trend a little bit also.
What trends do you NOT want to see on the red carpet this year?
Please NO to tight clothes for everyone
What are some secrets to a killer red carpet look?
Know what works for you, sit down with your designer or stylist and actually discuss what direction you’re going and ensure it works for your body type and just KILL it
