AQUA7 presented a captivating new collection at Vancouver Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2019 Season (VFW) at the Vancouver Art Gallery North Plaza. The featured brand is a ready-to-wear womenswear label founded in Lagos, Nigeria with clean creative minimalist designs embodying the daily affairs of a modern contemporary stylish woman.
Vancouver Fashion Week is a fast-growing fashion week in the world and the only industry event that actively seeks out to showcase international designers from over 25 global fashion capitals. Since its inception 17 years ago, VFW has operated with a firm belief in being a well-grounded local initiative with global instincts and intuition.
The collection titled Vero (Vero is short for Veronica, which means ‘true image’) is named after the designer’s late mother as a tribute for her very first runway.
According to the designer, Iwuagwu Cynthia:
The inspiration for this collection comes from the feeling of spring/summer in addition to the classic movie Sound of Music. This elegant fun collection captures a woman’s femininity giving her a sense of coming into her own. Vero is a culmination of a woman’s true essence with a touch of summer’s breezy feeling and the subtleness of spring. I want the collection to portray how a woman confidently blooms into her own image.
