Media IT girl Ayanda Thabethe is the latest cover star for The Bar Magazine‘s October 2019 issue.
In the photos following the cover feature, Ayanda who was named one of the most glamorous women in SA earlier in the year looks gorgeous in three statement looks. First, an A-line cold shoulder crepe dress designed by Viviers and then an edgy leather-mesh jacket by the same designer, paired with strappy sandals and an oxblood fringe hairstyle.
Then she switched things up to a floor-length crystal-embellished dress by Biji – La Maison de Couture. The center point of the look was her bold brown hairstyle that complimented her face perfectly.
For this edition tagged “Evolution”, the TV girl talks about her journey so far in the media industry.
Read excerpts below:
On how it all began
I’ve had a different journey to most people in the industry. It’s something that I appreciate because it’s worked for me. I have two marketing degrees – an undergraduate and an honours degree in Marketing, I worked in the medical field at Johnson & Johnson selling medical devices and diagnostics. I went on to sell pharmaceutical products then I went onto be a brand manager at L’Oréal.
On how she has preserved her reputation so far
I have preserved my reputation through my set of principles and goals. It’s important to have an end-goal in mind and to be surrounded by good people who want the best of you. This will always bring you back to your centre and that which matters the most.
On her favourite quote
One of my favourite quotes is that it takes a long time to become an overnight success.
