Cynthia Erivo’s look at the 82nd Golden Globes was nothing short of show-stopping and her nails were the crowning jewel. Created by the talented nail artist Clawz by Dior, these crystallized works of art were inspired by nature’s most exquisite gemstones, embodying elegance.

The Concept
Clawz by Dior drew inspiration from the natural beauty of gemstones, blending textures and colours to create a design as unique as Cynthia herself. Each nail featured intricate marble and vein detailing, enhanced with shimmering crystals for added glamour.
The Process
The nails were brought to life using OPI products in shades that complemented the gemstone theme, including Kyoto Pearl, Rated Pea-G, Fiyero’s My Mani, Miami Beet, Reoccurin’ Gleam, and Princesses Rule!
- Base Coats and Marble Design
- Begin with two coats of Reoccurin’ Gleam for a shimmering foundation.
- Apply a matte topcoat to create the perfect base for the marble effect.
- Using a white ink pigment, draw diagonal, imperfect lines across the nails to mimic natural gemstone veins.
- Creating the Veins
- With a 3D brush or thick nail art brush, use 100% acetone to disperse the white ink. This technique softens the lines, forming organic, vein-like patterns. Repeat until the desired effect is achieved.
- Adding Depth and Colour
- Incorporate touches of Princesses Rule! and Miami Beet for a pop of colour and dimension.
- Outline some veins with Alpine Snow using a thin liner brush to enhance depth.
- Crystal Embellishments
- The nails were further adorned with carefully placed crystals to emulate the brilliance of precious stones, ensuring each nail sparkled under the lights.
The Final Look
Nail art is no longer just an accessory; it’s a form of self-expression. For Cynthia, the result was a dazzling set of nails that perfectly balanced luxury and artistry.
