British-Nigerian actor Damson Idris was made for the stars and his feature in the Vanity Fair July/August issue is proof. The actor speaks about his life, breakout role in Snowfall, fashion taste, and starring opposite Brad Pitt in Joseph Kosinski and Jerry Bruckheimer’s Formula 1 movie.

On working with Kosinski, he mentioned it was a dream come true.

He is a director’s director. He is the epitome of cinema in my opinion. The feeling I felt when I walked out of Top Gun was how I felt when I was a kid and watched E.T. or Star Wars. Those movies are just defined by one thing: entertainment. Everyone, no matter what your background, could come and watch this film.… His process is amazing.

He also mentioned being into fashion off-screen, wearing the clothes instead of letting them wear him.

I’m intrigued by my history, what I like and how I felt living in the hood where no one’s wearing Prada but really loving Prada. Tommy Hilfiger was the first thing I ever bought from Bicester Village.
