Diversity, inclusion and media representation are some words that you have probably heard at some point or the other in recent times as more members of marginalized communities and their allies are championing for accurate representation in movies, on the runway, in beauty campaigns and so much more. Several fashion, beauty, luxury and lifestyle brands have already hopped on this (with varying results) and recently Maybelline also made a major move by getting Nigerian DJ, Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, known better as DJ Cuppy, to come on board as an IT Girl for Nigeria and Ghana.
Cuppy shared this exciting news on Instagram with the caption:
Excited about my partnership with @maybelline as an ‘IT Girl’ ? My goal is to drive inclusiveness and project Africa to the world through global beauty.
My experience in being an international DJ and Philanthropist provides a platform for me to touch many lives and empower women which embodies the values of Maybelline! #ToCuppyThisMaybelline #CuppyOnAMission
