Are you SLAY Festival ready? Arguably, one of the biggest women-focused events spanning careers in the arts, finance, tech and more, SLAY Festival is quickly becoming one of the events we most look forward to on our annual calendar. It’s debut last year was impressive, and it’s back bigger and better with sponsors and partners like Clinique, Samsung, MedPlus, House of Tara, ARM Financial Advisers, speakers like Bonang Matheba, Ink Eze, Glory Edozien, Chika Uwazie and Yele Badamosi and super fun activities like the Maggi Taste Bar, and we obviously cannot wait for the BNStyleStation.
We love the unique feel of this She Leads Africa led event, because even if it has a ‘serious’ focus, the dress code is more Coachella than Forbes – and personally I think it appeals quite cleverly to its multi-faceted millenial audience – not everytime #GirlBoss suit, sometimes channel your inner EmRata.
We aren’t called the slash-slash generation for nothing!
It goes without saying that we have some inspiration for your festival look – from the more ‘traditionally’ skin baring to more polished looks for festival attendees. Take a peek below and if you haven’t already – lock down your favorite festival-friendly looks
Skip the complicated outfits and go for a simple look like this Rococo dress and statement feather earrings.
Wear a cool button down over jeans or style them with a pair of denim cutoffs or dress shorts. Sunglasses= imperative.
Fruche Top from ZAZAII
Jeans from Miskay Boutique
Satin shorts from Debras Grace
You can’t go wrong with brightly colored coords and a sunhat for that punishing Lagos sun.
No fail outfit formula? A bomber jacket, white tank and shorts. Alternatively opt for a slip dress and bomber combo.
