The premiere of Kayode Kasum‘s new movie, “Ajosepo“ was as glitz and glam as a fashion show living up to its “Owambe” theme.
Owambe, an indigenous slang for proudly Nigerian celebrations, parties, and festivities featuring bright colours, flamboyant fashion, loud music, and an elaborate guest list (from which it got its name), loosely translates to “he/she is/was there” in Yoruba language, a nod to the fact that an event had all dignitaries vibrantly present.
That Naija festive spirit was in full gear at the premiere of Ajosepo, safe to say the cast and guests did not disappoint! We saw men rocking flowing agbada with stylish caps and women turning heads in elegantly wrapped gele. The scene was set in pure Nigerian elegance with well-thought-out details, even the outfits were coordinated as guests sported vibrant Adire aso-ebi (matching outfits) with respect to the movie’s marriage, family, and community-focused plot.
The movie cast showed out in style, Timini Egbuson‘s contemporary Agbada is a must-see and so is Tomike Adeoye‘s corseted ensemble. It felt like a giant Owambe party all night long featuring your faves Bisola Aiyeola, Mike Afolarin, Biodun Stephen and a host of others.
