On Friday the 3rd of November, Shea Moisture announced their presence in Nigeria with a mega event at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, thanks to Perfect Trust Cosmetics. There were lots of amazing masterclasses on budget-friendly hair care, nutrition and skincare, haircare in different weathers, protective styling and something for the guys – a beard grooming masterclass.

Fabulous guests were treated to mocktails and fun games like Ayo, a DIY challenge with Tuke Morgan and Fav Olugu and a wig making challenge.

On day 2, Saturday the 4th of November, the Shea Moisture Nigeria team hosted a group of bloggers and influencers at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, to an informative forum with some of their key team members. BellaNaija’s Chinyere Francis and Eki Ogunbor were there in attendance, representing the #BNFroFriday Naturalistas in full force.
We got the chance to meet Emmett Dennis, Chief Marketing Officer of Shea Moisture and Diane Bailey, Global Natural Hair Stylist and Beauty Ambassador for Shea Moisture.
The gist of the forum was how bloggers have the responsibility to educate people about all things hair – their textures, porosity and density. The Shea Moisture team members wanted to know how they could contribute to the education of the naturalistas in Nigeria, through the bloggers, influencers and the communities they’ve built physically and virtually. They also gave us a talk on how Shea Moisture is a family oriented business focused on empowering entrepreneurs.
Bloggers who attended were Ekene from The Kink and I, Deola of Omogemura, Ella of Natural Girl on a Budget, Kemi Lewis and Mercy Familusi. The forum ended with a good buffet lunch, all you can eat – from pepper soup to pasta and jollof rice of course.
