Decided to take a two-week break from both the cold and my job from London To Lagos (no Eazi). Spent the first week trying to tie all loose ends for my traditional marriage plans and the second exploring Lagos with my guests, eating great Naija meals, creating content for my platforms and of course taking photos.
The highlight of my trip (asides the wedding) was the Lagos Street Style shoot. Shot by Femi, @the.alfe, I wanted 5 outfits by Nigerian designers in 5 different locations. Limited my locations to the Island as My sister-friend who was already doing us a huge favour driving advised against the mainland because, traffic.
As a huge supporter of Nigerian designed pieces, I’d already copped 3 new outfits in November, I then hit up my mate, Ifeoma – a stylist (@hyperfashun) – who hooked me with two other designers and my 5 looks were sorted.
Jakande Arts & Craft Market
Also known as Lekki Arts & Craft Market, this gem is located off Lekki/Epe Expressway just after the Jakande roundabout – between the 4th & 5th roundabout. Coming from Victoria Island, you’d take a right, a left into Oba Elegushi and then after 200m you’d find it on your left.
No signs but a small gate, this market contains gems that would make you proud to be Nigerian. Paintings, Sculptures, Straw woven pieces etc

Lekki/Ikoyi Bridge
Constructed by Julius Berger Nigeria, the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge, is a 1.36 km cable-stayed bridge in Lagos State. It links the Phase 1 area, of Lekki with Ikoyi district of Lagos. The bridge was commissioned on the 29th of May 2013 by the Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola.
This bridge is now one of the structures that represents Lagos to be honest. It’s really stunning at night and you can capture it without having to climb the bridge itself like I did.

Keke Napep/Ajose Adeogun Street
I really, really wanted this location to be Lagos Island as in Tafawa Balewa Square or that CMS-type vibe but the photographer wasn’t really having it because traffic! We then wound up at the Ajose Adeogun/Adetokunbo Ademola point where buses and keke napeps abound.

The Backyard Bar & Grill
I definitely wanted on the shots to be at a decent restaurant. There are quite a number of them I’d spotted on Instagram. This was an option because it had a swing and a reputation of great cocktails.
Located at 4b Musa Yar’ Adua St, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria, according to them its ‘your alternative escape within Lagos. Cocktails, Food & Music.’

Nike Art Gallery
I had dreamt of taking a photo by the massive crocodile ? I had seen on Instagram. Femi wasn’t sure they’d let us take photos and we almost cancelled when I decided to call the gallery. Mrs Nike picked up and advised the crocodile has been purchased but there was now a bull! As a Taurus babe, this was proper suitable for me. We rushed there, the attendant told us we couldn’t take photos with the camera, just phones as ‘Oga would be mad’. I decided to speak to Oga. The most pleasant human ever. He made jokes of me possibly being a designer ‘they are the ones that dress like this’. He told us to have our fill with photos using the camera.
Apparently, he was in a good mood. The shoot ended so perfectly.
