Lifestyle magazine, The Will Downtown recently announced Mai Atafo, founder of the fashion brand, ATAFO, as its Guest Editor where He will collaborate with the resident Editor, Onah Nwachukwu.
Atafo, a Nigerian fashion tailor attended the Leeds-based Savile Row Academy where he trained as a tailor. With decades of experience in the fashion and lifestyle industry, choosing him as the Guest Editor was an easy decision.
According to the magazine’s Resident Editor, Onah Nwachukwu:
“I have known Ohimai since our days in University and so when I decided to have a Guest Editor and his name came to mind, it was a no-brainer. He is extremely creative and very passionate about anything he is a part of. Who can forget Weddings by Mai (the shows and collections), and all the exquisite pieces he has tailored.
Together, we will be bringing our dear readers some more amazing content.”
Mai Atafo who is the Creative Director of his brand, ATAFO, one of the biggest fashion brands in Nigeria, expresses excitement about joining the team for the next four issues.
Stoked to be onboard, Mai said:
“I am excited to be your Guest Editor alongside resident Editor, Onah Nwachukwu. This is also a scary venture, as I have never done this before except for my stint at Genevieve Magazine as Fashion Editor. But I will be holding on to the exciting part of the adventure rather than the scary part.
The introduction meeting with the team shows the amount of work that goes into every issue. Thankfully, I get to do this only four times and leave it to Onah and or anyone willing to fill my shoes as Guest Editor. We have amazing content for the month of April from highlighting the nominees of the AMVCA to celebrating family easter, and steering up conversations around malaria as we continue to fight the deadly parasite.
Thank you for having me and I look forward to making this a remarkable April.”
