African Childrenswear brand Maison Loulabelle has unveiled a new collection for Autumn/Winter 2019 which was shot last Christmas. The collection is tagged Dandelions in the Sahel.
According to the statement following the release:
Like the puffs of the tenacious dandelions her future rises… Defying conditions, defying obstacles and weathering the storm. They rise to a golden era.
This collection celebrates today’s African child – in many cases, multicultural, multinational, globalized, digitized… It acknowledges the changing realities of what it means to be an African child – all the diversity and expectations it holds while celebrating that which binds them all together – their AFRICANITY.
The brand will be representing Africa at the London Kid’s Fashion week next month.
Cynthia Oguntoye, the creative director of the brand said:
So, we will be representing the Continent at the London Kid’s fashion week. The first brand from the continent and the only brand from Africa to be at the Fashion week in February. Needless to say, this is massive not just for us as a brand, but for the Childrenswear sector in Nigeria and Abuja.
