Nigerian top model Mayowa Nicholas has been making waves on the runway during the major fashion weeks; from New York and London to Paris and Milan – waving the diversity flag everywhere she goes.
In Milan, Mayowa was part of the lineup for Jeremy Scott‘s epic “unfinished” Spring/Summer 2019 collection for Moschino. The designer sent models down the runway wearing life-size design sketches, because according to him; “The fashion system has sped up so much that, this time, I didn’t have time to finish my work. All I have to show is my sketches“. The whole collection referenced YSL silhouettes from the 80s; elbow-length gloves, regal tights, sharp cut suits paired with flat top broad-rimmed hats and pumps all scrawled upon with paint print that resembled scribbles from a marker.
Mayowa made two appearances during the show, one wearing a “Moschino” inscribed sweatpants and sweatshirt set in white with the marker print on the whole look including the matching pumps, bow-tie waist belt and boater hat.
For her second look, she was bold and confident in an ultra-feminine suit paired with a mini bag and bold accessories.
She took a moment to hoot her own horn sharing a clip from the runway show with the caption “Oh darling ,It’s MOSCHINO!!”
The Moschino show wasn’t her last at Milan Fashion Week. Over the weekend, she also walked for Marni adding to the number of huge brands she has walked for at Fashion Week’s Spring/Summer 2019 shows.
