Africa’s grand polo tournament Prince of Wales Cup, now called the Africa Polo Open is set to hold on Sunday the 23rd of September 2018.

The 110-year-old tournament will celebrate the African polo heritage – and this year, the South African team will take on Nigeria. In light of this, Nigerian trained Equestrian Sports Scientist, and former international polo player, Neku Atawodi-Edun, has been chosen as the face of the Africa Polo Open 2018!

Polo is played in over 15 countries in Africa; South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Egypt, Botswana, Uganda, Lesotho, to name but a few.

South Africa is the dominant polo playing country in the continent with spectacular events including Vodacom Durban July, Melbourne Cup, Veuve Clicquot Masters Polo among others. Polo is a sport synonymous with luxury and the attendees come out dressed to the nines.

This year’s Africa Polo Open dress code is smart casual.
