The red carpet fashion at the 2019 Oscars was as flamboyant as expected. Diamonds, crisp suits, metallic dresses – thanks JLO and all the glitz and glam that usually surrounds this highly anticipated Awards ceremony.
Not one to disappoint, Lupita Nyong’o, who notably missed the red carpet arrival, shared her look for the evening via her Instagram page; a dreamy one-shouldered white feathered Fall 2019 Oscar de la Renta gown which was debuted at the just-concluded New York Fashion Week shows. The dress featured a high-low hemline and was snatched at the waist with a black belt all put together by Micaela Erlanger.
As we’ve come to expect from the Kenyan star, her hair and makeup reached levels we could never have imagined! Nick Barose created a simple but elegant with disco silver shadow and flirty feathery lashes to go with the feathers on her dress. He added a pop of colour to the look with berry lips using Lancome’s Drama Matte Lipstick in 417.
Vernon François, who also created the iconic braided fingers for Amandla Stenberg – one of the winning looks of the night, went with a unique pin-up style for Lupita, letting her glamourous dress do the talking and keeping the party for the back. He added a gold fringe headpiece to the midsection of the natural hairstyle which gave the hairstyle a complete upgrade.
