No doubt, Rita Dominic is Nollywood royalty and when it comes to red carpet style, she nails it every time. For five consecutive years, she has literally shut down the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards red carpet in different head-turning looks that have made serious statements about how she loves to dress – elegant and unique, and as soon as this year’s event started, fans were buzzing in anticipation of Rita Dominic’s look.
While almost all female guests came in ball gowns, heavy sequins, and sultry dresses, she stepped onto the AMVCA 2018 red carpet with an unexpected straight floor-length gown from TUBO‘s bridal collection.
At first glance, the dress looks simple, but look again with a fresh pair of sartorial eyes – the Hefey dress from the brand’s latest collection titled “Her Form” has all the features of a smashing red carpet dress – the perfect fit, a complimenting colour which in this case was royal blue that worked well with the lush fabric and of course a dramatic effect that came in the form of a voluminous statement neckline that transitioned to sleeves extending below her waist. Add all these features to Rita’s demure pear physique = Magic!
As usual, she went with self-effacing hair and makeup choices, her black weave was pulled back to show off the subtle glam Doranne Beauty did – neatly lined eyes over a metallic shade paired with soft ombre lips.
Of course, her outfit was one of the most talked about looks of the night and made almost everyone’s Best Dressed List – props to skilled stylist, The Style Infidel who took time to analyze what will work best for her style personality and the event.
When it comes to red carpet style, even the biggest stars often trade their personal style for what they presume is trendy – but Rita stayed true her style and it definitely worked for her.
