So what’s it like to go on a fashionable brand trip? Press trips are as old as advertising, and have been given a fresh reboot with the advent of social media and digital influencers. Bata, the international shoe manufacturer and fashion brand staged an experience for Bata shoe lovers called the Bata Fashion Weekend themed ‘The Sound of Style’.
The 2 day extravaganza in Milan hosted influencers and press from regions where Bata still operates (they used to be huge in Nigeria but shut down in 1998). Bata is striving to be a brand that encourages diversity, female empowerment and strengthens one’s confidence on a global scale.
The current CEO Mr. Alexis Nasard stressed that
“We want to solve the dilemma that women face of having to choose stylish-sexy shoes or comfortable ones by offering both features in our product.”
The second edition of the experience (the first was hosted in Prague last year) featured an engaging mix centred around shoe design, music and exquisite craftsmanship.
Kenyan influencer and quintessential fashion girl Silvia Njoki was one of the aforementioned bloggers feted at the event and she captured all the fun in this vlog. Taking us along from the unboxing of all the Bata goodies she received to see the transformation of the Palazzo Mezzanotte into a hub of fashion and design, including the fashion shows, exhibitions, music performances and artisan masterclasses.
