Nigerian RnB star Tems and one of Hollywood’s favourite actresses Taraji P. Henson, two extraordinary women who embody excellence in their respective fields, recently shared a moment at The Sole DXB Festival in Dubai.
Tems was gorgeous in an off-shoulder black dress and braided ponytail that accentuated her features while Taraji was a delight in her puffy-sleeved pink crop top and natural hair, adorned with pristine diamonds that graced her neck shining in the light.
But beyond the iconic fashion and fabulous style, these women showed profound mutual respect for each other. Taraji expressed herself with genuine support speaking of Tems:
I want her to shine, I want her to win, and I’m going to make sure she wins.
This was more than an endorsement, it was one powerful woman lifting another, breaking down the barriers that often divide creatives.
For Tems, it was a full-circle moment as she revealed “I love this woman and I’ve been in love with her since I was young”, her voice tinged with admiration and appreciation.
This interaction was a beautiful affirmation of Black excellence showing that black women have risen from being participants to definitive creators with real power: Tems with her amazing music that’s captivating audiences across the globe and Taraji with her impactful performance acts.
