Lagos Fashion Week is back this year with a lineup of amazing designers from around the African continent showcasing their Spring/Summer 2022 collections.
Among these, the Sunlight brand has put together a collective with special designs from their Fashion Focus 2020 winners. The three designers; Adesola Falomo, Itunu Bamidele, Victoria Anosike and bring together their unique individual aesthetic and skill for a special Sunlight runway show on Day 3 of physical shows. This initiative aims to empower female entrepreneurs in the fashion industry by giving them grants and promoting the amazing work they do across platforms.
Ahead of the show, BellaNaija Style caught up with Adesola Falomo the Creative Director of TwentySix.co to talk about her brand, and get a sneak peek of her pieces in the Sunlight collection.

BNS: What are some of your expectations for today’s show?
Adesola: It’s our first time at LFW and I hope our collection is appreciated and resonates with people. I also expect to see a lot of creativity from other African designers coupled with a lot of energy and excitement. Really looking forward to the show. Grateful for LFW for organizing an incredible platform, ten years on, and putting African designers, design, and locally produced garments in the spotlight.
BNS: Tell us a bit about what we will be seeing on the runway, the inspiration, and more
Adesola: For the collection, we thought about what type of clothing serves a world that has experienced a ‘slowing down’ following a pandemic lockdown. By playing with prints that are inviting, adding vibrant colors, embracing loose-fitting shapes in the fabric that flow softly on the body, we married androgynous styles with feminine textures creating clothing that portrays comfort, freedom, and rediscovering the joy of dressing up.
