Nigerian musician Tiwa Savage just released the visuals for her new hit single 49-99 and the nostalgia is real. Shot by fast-rising music video director Meji Alabi, the video features Savage rocking 99’s biggest secondary school hair trend, rubber thread style.
Inspired by Elliot Elisofon’s 1972 portraits of Congolese schoolgirls, the 2018 MTV Europe Music Award winner got more specific with her ode to the era as she also slipped into a secondary school uniform. She rocked a blue uniform with a white-collar just like in Elliot Elisofon’s portrait with her signature nude makeup.
