Congratulations are in order for Senegalese fashion designers Sarah Diouf and Omar Salam, the head designers behind Tongoro Studio and Sukeina respectively.

Both brands have made it to the final stage of the Essence Black Fashion Designer of the Year Awards. This is a huge win for the designers who have made headlines in top publications because of their huge impact in the fashion industry. Beyoncé has become quite fond of Tongoro studio; she even wore one of their designs in her latest Spirit music video and Omar is behind some of Naomi Campbell‘s most stand-out looks.

The brands were both featured in the latest “Global Issue” of Essence Magazine.
Sharing the news with her followers on Instagram, Diouf expressed gratitude with the caption:
