What started as a viral wave on TikTok has blown into a Grammy-award-winning moment for Tyla — the author of the hit track “Water“ which won the Best African Music Performance category at the 66th Grammy Awards.
The history maker was impeccably dressed for her Grammy moment, wearing a custom draped pistachio-coloured sultry outfit from Atelier Versace that’s right in tune with the ongoing reincarnation of fashion and beauty trends from Y2K. Her dress reminded us of Jennifer Lopez‘s iconic Versace jungle-print dress from the Grammys’ February 2000 red carpet.

She paired the outfit with one-of-a-kind braided twists and a dreamy facebeat featuring ethereal eyes that complimented the shimmers thereof. Vogue was there to capture the styling details as Tyla’s team got her ready for music’s biggest night.
“It felt like I was getting pranked,” Tyla said while seated and ready to get her glam on. It all feels like a dream come true because she had dreamt that “the song was going to blow up,!”.
