Ugandan-Canadian actress Whitney Peak is the stunning cover star for L’Officiel Brasil‘s latest issue.
In an exclusive interview with the publication, the star speaks a little about her character in the 2021 HBO Max revival of Gossip Girl, her style, her career and what makes her happiest.
According to the publication:
Born in Uganda and naturalized Canadian, the young actress Whitney Peak at just 20 years old is already a success on the small screen. In spite of being young, her résumé is that of grown-ups. One of the protagonists of the Gossip Girl series, where she plays Zoya Lott, she has acted before in Home Before Dark, iZombie, Legends of Tomorrow and in Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

On who the real Whitney Peak is?
I love to work and learn – keep my mind sharp and my soul fed. I love what I do and I am very aware of how lucky I am to be where I am. I really value my family and friends – they are a great support system. I like to be alone and spend most of my free days at home reading and watching tv, which means I’m a bit of a homebody.
I only go out to work or to hang out with my friends – I like to have fun, but extremes scare me. Lots of people or noisy places, I get overwhelmed easily so I meet new people, small talk all of that is hard. I need to work on it, I like to have fun, but what that means changes daily.
On how her character’s style differs from her personal style
Lately, I’ve been loving collars, well-made shirts, blouses, and elegance without being too formal. I’m in a very experimental phase. So does Zoya, I suppose, but she has a very strict, baggy, street-style cool vibe to her wardrobe. She puts it all out there at events and on the weekend. I’m just into shoulder pads, looking like someone’s prep school teacher. An obsession with silhouettes.
